Annihilation Book Cover & Movie Poster Redesign

This is the first in my redesigns of popular movies or books. When redesigning this cover for the movie Annihilation, I kept the line “It’s not destroying… it’s making something new.” as my theme. For the top I included the 5 scientists entering the shimmer to emphasize the uncertainty and transformation they are about to undergo. Then, as a reflection, I introduced a new scene to reorient the poster. This scene symbolizes the idea of something new being created amidst the destruction. I chose a sleek sans serif font for the title. I wanted the title to feel futuristic enough to convey the science fiction elements of this movie.
